Hello! Call me Kattyrae!
So my title is a little misleading….I’m not going to tell you “the story of my life”, that would take too long and be very boring.
But, there are at least two important (rather, defining) factors in my life. I could tell you them, but I believe you will understand my blog much better if I tell you the stories that lead to these defining choices of mine.
First: When I was somewhere between the age of 5 and 8, I made the MOST important decision of my life. And while it seems to be such a young age to make the single most important decision of my life at, I have never looked back. I chose to accept Jesus Christ into my life as Lord and Savior, seeing that my sins would separate me from God forever unless they were atoned for, because God is a just and righteous God. He’s also a loving God, and so He sent His Son to save me and everyone else who will believe. Jesus Christ is the only way to atone for my misdeeds, and I thank Him continually that He has covered my transgressions. But it was not until later (my early teens) that I decided that, being such a God and Savior as He is, He deserved my full devotion and I decided I would live my life for Him and Him alone. Walking with Him daily and being close to Him is my desire and the only thing that truly satisfies me. I love my Savior and Lord, but my love is dim in comparison to His love for me – and that just makes me love Him all the more.
Second: In my senior year of high-school God changed my desires for a prestigious career (doing something great and “worthwhile”) to desires to be married and become a housewife, to have children and become a home-educator. And so college went out the window because I am serious about my new chosen “profession”. I’m not just waiting for it to happen, I’m trying to spend my time wisely in preparing for it and being active in what God’s will for my life is NOW. My goal in life is not to be a wife and mother ~ a keeper of the home~; my goal in life to know and glorify my God, and being a wife and mother is one of the ways that I desire to do it.
So, that 2 important things about me, which color everything I say and do, so please keep them in mind as you read this blog. There are other things about me, things that aren’t so serious. I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that I love run-on sentences (just think of all the ones you don’t get to see because my spell-check goes berserk!). I live on a farm with my family (yes, I am over twenty. And yes, I am still living with my parents) and enjoy their company every day. Currently 6 of the 7 of us kids are still here, my older brother and his family live near by (I love being an aunt to my adorable nephew and niece!), my other 3 brothers are younger than me, two of which started their freshman year in college this fall, and the other one is still in high-school. I also have 2 AMAZING (in every sense of the word) sisters. We also have a herd of cows, 4 horses (only 2 are actually ours, the other 2 are just here for kicks I guess), 6 dogs, 5 cats, and a slew of pesky varmints that you would normally find out in the country. I love trying to cook Italian, and I love eating it even more. I’m a proven plant-killer, but still persist in my dreams of fruit-tending (and in the future, herbs!). I want to start trying my hand at sewing – real sewing -, and I play violin and piano (don’t ask for a performance, because I’m a poor performer). And the most obvious thing about me (that will be obvious to you at least), is I’m a shutterbug and like to dabble in writing. I also have a very random and kinky sense of humor. You will be the victims of this humor during almost every post, consider yourselves warned.
